Work on-line in a learning e-community keeping in touch through your inbox.  The course commences on a Monday morning and ends 10 days later, but it allows you to continue doing all your normal work - allow about an hour a day to properly get to grips with the material and concepts

Now you can sign up alongside a group of other business owners and managers and learn how to write press releases that WILL get published.

Course leader Dave Picken (former Head of News at a top British television broadcaster) will guide you through all the principles of how to write press releases that editors will want to use.  Learn all the tricks direct from the horse's mouth.

Top marketing author Professor Geoff Lancaster will help you underpin the practical aspects with sound theory.

....... and it's all handled through the brilliant Webucate system that means you don't have to gather in some hotel somewhere - you gather on line in the Webucate group.  (The Webucate system recently helped 5 out of 20 busy executive students on an MSc programme gain distinctions in their degrees)

Anybody can put together a press release but how many people can plan, write, format and target a successful press release?

Very few press releases that are sent to the media are actually used. Even in local papers, which have a big consumption, only about 1 in 10 releases ever make the final cut.

Taught, by an industry professional who has been on the receiving end as well as writing releases, this course will give you an insight into how to identify a great story, write and format an effective release, target the right media and interest the journalist.

Who should take this course?

This course has something for everyone, whether you are a PR professional wishing to improve your skills or you’re new to press release writing and want to learn from the best.

Every student will finish the course with a usable press release for their company plus a frameable certificate of completion, signed and authorised by Dave Picken and Professor Lancaster, as well as the know-how to write a professional, readable, newsworthy press release that reaches the right people.
